Afeli Pharmaceuticals is planing the construction of a 50,000 sqft temperature-controlled facility in the state of South Carolina. This facility will have a 5,000 sqft office capacity, a 25,000 sqft storage capacity, and a 20,000 sqft automated secondary packaging area.

Biography

         The founder of Afeli Pharmaceuticals, Dr. Serge Afeli was born in Côte d’Ivoire (West Africa) and raised in a family of six children in the city of Abidjan. Despite growing up in a country where soccer was the major sport, Dr. Afeli developed a passion for basketball early in his childhood after watching the U.S.A men’s basketball “Dream Team” in the 1992 Olympics. Soon after, Dr. Afeli joined his neighborhood varsity basketball team and few years later he was recruited to play in the men’s national basketball team of Côte d’Ivoire. His athletic abilities, his basketball skills, as well as his excellent academic record brought a lot of attention from outside observers. In 2005, Dr. Afeli received a full athletic scholarship from Kansas State University to join their men's basketball program.  In December 2007, Dr. Afeli earned his BS degree in physical sciences and in May 2008, he completed his pre-pharmacy curriculum, both from Kansas State University. In January 2009, Dr. Afeli joined the University of South Carolina- College of Pharmacy where he obtained his PhD degree in pharmaceutical sciences in May 2013. Dr. Afeli has published several first author peer-reviewed articles in the field of urology and his work has contributed to provide valuable insight in overactive bladder pathophysiology. During his tenure at the University of South Carolina, Dr. Afeli also received business training from the South Carolina Small Business Development Center (SCSBDC) and the National Association of Small Business International Trade Educators (NASBITE) and became certified as a Global Business Professional. Dr. Afeli is highly involved in the community and is member of the National Black Graduate Student Association (NBGSA), an organization dedicated to help increase the number of African descent graduate and professional students in higher education by providing resources that will enhance the likelihood of their academic and career success. Dr. Afeli passion for pharmaceutical research and business has led to the creation of Afeli Pharmaceuticals, a company dedicated to address the unmet need for the consistent delivery of U.S. made high-quality medical services throughout the African continent.
